lake towns we have ever visited. Surrounded by mountains, this lake has spectacular views in every direction. This is not our first time here, as our good friends Rich and Shelby Ronnestad (formally from Tampa) have settled here and we visited them back in 2019.   We made sure this trip brought us back through this countryside as we wanted to explore more of what the Ronnestads love so much.  Shelby recommended that we stay at Farragut State Park just 35 minutes away from their home for our first 2 nights.  There, we hiked, had picnic dinners, visited their marina where they moor their 22’ sailboat, and spent (not enough) time just catching up and reconnecting.  Vic and Rich spent the second day playing a round of golf at the famous The Coeur D’Alene Golf Couse with the floating #14  green on the lake.  Vic’s shot made it on the green, that’s all I’m going to say.   Our final night in the area we celebrated not only our country’s birthday but also Shelby’s.  Their home sits atop a mountainside with endless views of the city below from which we watched the thousands of fireworks shot into the night sky.  We had our rig parked in their driveway for the night so we didn’t have to worry about driving anywhere else that night.

  1. I have the same golf tag and I too made it to the island. It is one of my (few) golfing triumphs!
