Our first night, staying out of the rain Entrance to Mt Rainier National Park Our home for the next 3 days
After a somber goodbye to our dear friends in Idaho, we once again hopped onto I-90 and headed west to Mt Rainier National Park in Packwood, Washington. We pulled into our campsite at Cougar Rock campground site. It was beautiful! Vic set up our camp rug and comfy camp chairs and was building a beautiful fire when suddenly the heavens opened up and soaked everything. We scrambled inside the camper and spent a cozy evening there.
The next morning, we took the dogs on a road hike down to Longmire Ranger Station. This was a good hilly walk, but we were sad the dogs could not go on the prettier wooded trails (a rule that is consistent with National Parks). At Longmire Ranger Station

After lunch, Vic and I set out on a human only hike up into the woods and were amazed at the beauty. Somewhere up above us is Mt Rainier, but the clouds obscured the view our entire visit.
